DAMNATION a lament
Blood runs Spirit burns Heads turn Then look away again
(I've forgotten)
Moon glows Agony throes No one knows Except the night and you
(What it's like)
Harsh mistress Callous blisters Ragged fissures Scrawled across your skin
(To look)
Day breaks Body aches Limbs quake In the aftermath of sin
(At the moon)
Dumb and blind Stumbling behind Follow the line Until you've perfected normality
(and smile;)
Scent beguiles The girl smiles "Stay awhile" And her eyes outshine the moon
(She's beautiful.)
Nights pass by Chasing fireflies Echoing cries Of the demons fade away
(But forgetting)
Full moon again Bones bend Teeth tear skin To make way for the beast inside
(is all that)
Familiar burning Strange yearning Humanity warning That you shouldn't go out tonight
(I can do)
Colors fade Moon-made Escape, evade The pull of conscience at your mind
(And stay)
Out of time Out of your mind Prey to find Out of the self-made cage, you're free
(sane.)
Last chance Creep, advance One glance Is all it takes; she runs
(Is it not)
Blood sprays No one prays Silent gaze Wondering why it has your eyes
(ironic that)
Moon overpowers: Flesh devoured Bones scoured Full of sin and salt, you sleep.
(she would be)
Daybreak again Human again Alone again, You awake to the taste of her flesh
(the only one)
No one there No one to care No one to stare As your soul is ripped in two
(to witness)
Mind breaks Body aches Soul quakes As you remember her smile and scream.
(my damnation, and stay?)
